Pet Portraits

Mary prefers to take animal pictures in natural light in places where the subject is comfortable and happy. That could mean taking pictures in your living room, backyard, or a nearby park, depending on what you and your pet prefer.

A portrait session lasts anywhere from 1 to 4 hours, depending on how cooperative your pet decides to be. Before taking a single picture Mary will take the time to learn from both of you about the pet's personality, so she can capture a portrait that is not only beautiful but meaningful. That time also lets the animal get to know her a little, which helps make the session more relaxed for everyone.

It helps if you have some of your pet's favorite treats and toys available, and an area to take pictures where the animal is unlikely to hide. Unless you want pictures of the cat under the sofa, in which case she'll try and work with that!

If you want to be in the portrait or want to include multiple pets that's fine, too. It will take longer to get usable pictures the more subjects there are, but Mary's patient.

A portrait session costs a flat fee of $150. That price includes travel in the DC area to your location of choice, online proofs of all usable pictures, your choice of one photo edited to print at 8" x 10" (either as a print or printable downloaded file), and an email-sized electronic file of the edited pose. Additional downloads, prints and merchandise (t-shirts, mugs, etc) are available at additional cost.

Satisfaction Guaranteed

In the unlikely event that you don't find a single picture worth printing from a session, Mary will come back and try again. If you are still not happy she will refund your money. It's that simple!
